Dr. Ang awarded a NARSAD Young Investigator Award

Yuen_120Dr. Yuen Ang has been awarded a NARSAD Young Investigator Award.

Yuen’s project is entitled “Neural Mechanisms Underlying Cognitive Motivational Anhedonia in Depression,” and will use an innovative paradigm he has developed to probe the neural correlates of cognitive effort in MDD.

Dr. Sacchet awarded a NARSAD Young Investigator Award

Matthew’s project is entitled “Person-specific Functional Brain Mapping and Major Depressive Disorder” and will pursue innovative analyses probing functional network at the individual level, and will link these metrics to various clinical measures.

Dr. Pizzagalli receives Conte Center grant

Dr. Diego Pizzagalli will serve as the center director for the recently awarded Silvio O. Conte Centers for Translational Mental Health Research grant.

Under the title “Novel Treatment Targets for Affective Disorders Through Cross-Species Investigation of Approach/Avoidance Decision Making,” this Silvio O. Conte Centers for Translational Mental Health Research grant involves laboratories from McLean, Massachusetts General Hospital, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of Washington, and Brown University.

Dr. Ironside receives 2020 Alfred Pope Award

Maria Ironside is this year’s co-recipient of the 2020 Alfred Pope Award.

The Alfred Pope Award is given annually by McLean Hospital to young investigators “in recognition of the publication of an exceptional peer-reviewed first-authored article on basic or clinical research performed at McLean Hospital.”  Maria was selected based on her first authored reviewed publication, “Approach-Avoidance Conflict in Major Depressive Disorder: Congruent Neural Findings in Humans and Nonhuman Primates,” published in Biological Psychiatry.

Dr. Isabelle Rosso receives two major grants

Dr. Isabelle Rosso has recently been awarded two major grants from the NIMH (one R01 and a Conte Center Grant (P50) project).

For her R01, entitled “Multimodal imaging of hippocampal-cortical networks and mechanisms of trauma-related intrusions,” Dr. Rosso and her team will investigate brain processes associated with distinctive characteristics of trauma memories, including vivid sensory-perceptual experiences

For her P50 project, entitled “Clinical studies of CRF-PACAP systems in human PTSD,” the goal will be to investigate neuroimaging measures of hyperarousal and stress in PTSD, and relate them to key stress peptides, including PACAP and CRF.

Diego Pizzagalli received the 2017 Joel Elkes Research Award from the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology (ACNP).
