Research Interests

My program of research aims to elucidate how stress affects the brain and what that might tell us about the etiology and maintenance of mood and anxiety disorders. Stress and mental health disorders can have a bidirectional association, so my research program also aims to understand how having a mood/anxiety disorder might increase sensitivity and exposure to stressors. Moreover, I am interested in the developmental association between stress and mental health to better understand the trajectories of mood and anxiety disorders in children and adolescents with the hopes of finding developmental stages during which psychological interventions may have the best long-term impact.
