Alexis Whitton PhD

Alexis Whitton was recently promoted to Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. Congratulations to Dr. Whitton!



A number of CDASR lab members have recently received significant grants and awards.  Poornima Kumar has been awarded an NIMH grant for her study entitled “Influence of GABA on reinforcement learning in individuals with current and remitted depression.”  Christian Webb has been awarded a Klingenstein Third Generation Fellowship Award in Depression, for a longitudinal fMRI study of children with anhedonia. Finally, Stephanie Deccy and Melissa Yuan, two of our undergraduate researchers, have each been awarded a Harvard College Research Program (HCRP) grant to support their work in the center during the summer.  Congratulations to all on your achievements!

Janice Kiley, Grants Administrator for the Center for Depression, Anxiety and Stress Research, was recently honored as a recipient of McLean Hospital’s Vision of Excellence (VoE) Award, for her commitment to excellence and  her consistent efforts to go above and beyond. At the award reception Janice was applauded by McLean President, Scott L. Rauch, MD, Chief Academic Officer Shelly M. Greenfield, MD, and CDASR Director  Diego A. Pizzagalli, PhD, along with dozens of colleagues and friends who came to express their appreciation for Janice's exceptional support. Congratulations, Janice!

Four CDASR postdoctoral fellows were recently awarded 2014 McLean Fellowships: Alexis Whitton received the Andrew P. Merrill Memorial Research Fellow award; Ashlee Van't Veer received the Rappaport Mental Health Research Scholar Award;  Joanna Chango received the Adam Corneel Young Investigator Award; and Jeremy Stewart received the Pope-Hintz Endowed Fellowship Award. They will be using these awards to embark on exciting projects on important clinical questions.
